The project was initiated in 2019 with the goal to provide U.S. students with a unique summer research experience through project collaboration with outstanding partners in the Czech Republic. Even though the year 2020 was impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, we managed to transform the activities into an online internship.
This summer, Red Hat sponsored the Leadership Academy, a program launched by the University of Massachusetts Amherst, led by equity and inclusion expert Nilanjana Buju Dasgupta.
Everyone has experienced this at least once in their lifetime. A lot of new information, many unknown faces and plenty of upcoming responsibilities. Beginning a new job might be stressful and no one really knows what to expect. To avoid this, Red Hat has organized first-ever Intern Bootcamp to make the start of their career path exciting and entertaining.
Vojta Polásek graduated with honors at Masaryk University Brno, receiving the Dean’s award for his Bachelor and Diploma theses. His diploma thesis was nominated by his faculty to prestigious Czech and Slovak IT SPY competition evaluating IT diploma theses and was among the 8 best finalists. Recently, Vojta joined Red Hat and kick-started his career in the Security Compliance team. While Vojta’s record is impressive for any young engineer, it’s made all the more remarkable by the fact that he was born visually impaired and lost his sight entirely during his teenage years.
