Get Involved

Bringing together great people and great ideas is the core of Red Hat Research. Our door is always open for new participants, new project ideas, and new opportunities. Please explore the options below or contact us directly.

Contribute to a research project

Join an existing project or lead your own.  Write some code, mentor a team, or more.   Not sure where to start?  Browse our current research projects, attend an upcoming Research Interest Group meeting, or contact us.

Teach a course or mentor a student

Use these course materials, co-developed by Red Hatters and university faculty, to teach a class at a university.  Or, work one-to-one by mentoring a student.

Participate in a Research Interest Group

Engage with engineers, researchers, and students on current research and find ways to contribute. RIGs meet monthly.

Find an internship

Students in any region can get hands-on experience.  Learn about opportunities with Red Hat and some of our partners.

Explore thesis topics

Graduate students in the Czech Republic can work with Red Hat mentors on their graduate theses.

Compete in the Red Hat Open Source contest

Students learn how easy it is to participate in open source projects through competition. Students can also get feedback on their code,  get it included in a real project, and win prizes.

Red Hat Research Days

Red Hat Research Days aim to connect researchers with Red Hat engineers, customers, and partners, to move great research ideas into open source communities.
