The audience is bachelor’s degree students only (International and Israeli track). The course will be taught in English.
Course name: “Open source code” workshop with Red Hat
Course staff: Prof. Anat Bremler – Barr (Academic Manager), Mr. Michael Czeizler (Teaching Assistant) with Red-Hat lecturers: Mrs. Liora Milbaum and Mrs. Irit Goihman
Course time: Sunday and Tuesday, 10:00-12:30.
Prerequisite course: Operating Systems
Course description: As Open Source becomes the new industry standard, it is expected by software companies that developers will have the background and skills required to utilize the potential of that field. Through the course, you will be exposed to the Open Source culture, ecosystem and tech stack. Topics that will be covered: Software lifecycle, DBs, Virtualization, Containers, Cloud.
You will gain practical and technical skillset to excel in the first steps of your tech career. We will practice Open Source development in the same manner as done in the industry.
Grade: Project (done in groups) and course assignments. Due date of the project 1.11.2020. The project will include frontend and backend parts and user management with authentication. The programming language will be python.
