World RISC-V Days: Hands-On RISC-V Workshop with DeepComputing and Red Hat
Friday, February 27, 2026
10am – 3pm
Location (only in-person): Red Hat, 300 A St, Boston, MA 02210
Sponsored by DeepComputing, RISC-V International, and Red Hat
In keeping with World RISC-V Days, DeepComputing and Red Hat are co-sponsoring a half-day, hands-on workshop with RISC-V hardware! Come to the Red Hat office on February 27 for an up-close interaction with the DeepComputing ROMA II laptop, based on the flexible Framework chassis. Come get your hands (a little bit) dirty and learn about running Fedora on this new RISC-V platform.
The day starts at 10am, and includes presentations by Red Hat’s Matt St. Onge and DeepComputing’s Yuning Liang interwoven with hands-on portions. The topics cover RISC-V in general and Red Hat’s interest in the platform, Fedora support, and of course DeepComputing’s journey. For the hands-on portion, attendees have access to up to 10 laptops (shared among 50 attendees), with the opportunity to walk through setting up and launching Fedora, including optimization for the platform and even running an LLM. This session was first given at RISC-V Summit North America 2025, with strong positive feedback.
This event is open to everyone—we encourage anyone interested to join us and participate. However, due to the hands-on nature of the workshop, seats are limited to 50 attendees, so please respond asap to secure your seat.
