On Friday, April 30 2021 at 11am ET, the Hariri Institute for Computing hosted the fourth event in its Distinguished Speaker Series: Machine Learning for Model-Rich Problems.
Joshua Blumenstock–Associate Professor at the School of Information, Director of the Data-Intensive Development Lab, and Co-Director of the Center for Effective Global Action, University of California, Berkeley–will discuss how machine learning, applied to rich data from satellites and mobile phone networks, can be used to target and deliver cash aid to individuals and families living in extreme poverty.
