Carlos Soriano Sánchez and Tomáš Popela, software engineers from Red Hat gave an online lecture on “Handling complexity in industry projects with software management” hosted by the Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University within the course FI:PB007 Software Engineering. This lecture was open to the public.
Carlos Soriano Sánchez
Carlos has been involved in GNOME and FOSS as a software engineer since 2013, starting his career as a maintainer of Nautilus and developer of GNOME Shell. Over time, Carlos transitioned into a Product Owner role and then became Engineering Manager for part of the fantastic GPU, Input and Multimedia team at Red Hat, which is responsible for the stack from the kernel DRM subsystem to the user space GL and Vulkan drivers. In his free time, he likes to do CrossFit and play the guitar, when not on the beach in his hometown in Spain.
Tomáš Popela
Tomáš started his career as a developer working on technologies around web engines inside Red Hat. Over time he became interested in solving the process issues inside the team. Currently he works as the Product Owner for GNOME, LibreOffice and also for Fedora Silverblue where he’s trying to promote the robust and containers oriented operating system. In his free time he likes any kind of movement and he’s addicted to his wife and son.
