Greater New England Research Interest Group Meeting [April 2021]
Topic 1: Research Paper Reading Group – Part 1 (20 min) – Ahmed Sanaullah
Abstract: This session is designed to get you started on your paper reading journey – a journey that we hope to take as a group so that we can help each other learn and benefit from each other’s expertise. The session consisted of two parts. The first part was an introduction to research papers. In the second part, we highlighted the ‘general’ value of research papers i.e. how can we find value in papers that are outside our areas of expertise. This will be done through an in-depth discussion of three papers from different areas (listed below).
These papers have all been selected from OSDI’20, which is one of the highest tier conferences in computer science and engineering. All media – including papers, slides, recordings and artifacts – is freely available at: https://www.usenix.org/conference/osdi20/technical-sessions.
