Ata Turk works on the design and development of cloud-based platforms, especially cloud monitoring, logging and alerting systems, and also works on improving the performance, security, or efficiency of cloud frameworks using machine learning or combinatorial mechanisms. Turk has been involved in building and delivering public (Mass Open Cloud) and private (State Street) clouds, as well as designing and devloping operational visibility mechanisms for these clouds. He co-teaches a graduate level cloud computing course at Boston University that provides an understanding of key cloud computing and big data concepts, and teaches agile development practices. He also has extensive expertise in designing algorithms for graph analytics.
