Bruno Machado (publishes as Bruno Sotto-Mayor) holds an M.Sc. in Computer Engineering and Information Systems from the Instituto Superior Técnico at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. Bruno is a Ph.D. student under Prof. Meir Kalech in the Software and Information Systems Engineering department at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. His research is focused on software quality and the application of Data Science to improve software development practices and techniques. One of the most recent focuses has been the study and development of Defect Prediction approaches, such as integrating code smells as features to predict defects. Moreover, he is involved in research to evaluate the disparity of robotics development through the analysis of code smells. He is also involved in developing a meta-learning model for cross-project defect prediction. Orthogonally, Bruno has also been part of a research project to integrate Spectrum Fault Localization techniques from the domain of software diagnosis for feature localization.
