Andy Huynh

PhD student

Andy is a graduate student at Boston University working with Manos Athanassoulis. He is particularly interested in data systems tuning, specifically when deploying and tuning any data system, there are two big questions. How well will my tuning perform once my environment changes? Additionally, what should I or my system do once my environment changes? He’s interested in using techniques in machine learning, and optimization to address these questions. Andy’s work is in part funded by the IBM PhD fellowship program.

Prior to Boston University, he was at the University of Minnesota where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Computer Engineering. There he did research under Vladimir Cherkassky and Bin He. His research in Minnesota dealt primarily with machine learning and it’s applications to biomedical sciences.”
