Open Days at Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University

Apr 17, 2020 | Brno, Masaryk University

On February 6th, the Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University opened its doors to the public. Open Days is a great opportunity for potential applicants for studies at the faculty. Visitors could learn more about study opportunities, study programs, travel options during studies, career possibilities and they could meet and talk to existing FI students and student representatives and much more.

The important part of the program was a tour around the faculty and its science and technology park. Attendees were divided into smaller groups and each group was guided by current FI students, ready to answer all the questions. During the excursion they visited various laboratories and locations of the faculty partners, including Red Hat’s Open Source Lab where our associate Milan Brož together with Vashek Matyáš, Vice-dean for alumni relations and lifelong learning at the Faculty of Informatics, introduced joint cooperation between Red Hat and the CRoCS (Center for Research on Cryptography and Security) and presented on the security issues the CRoCS laboratory is dealing with and how to participate in open source projects during studies, be it during the bachelor thesis, collaboration on laboratory research projects or an internship.
