Mayank Varia, Research Scientist and Co-Director for the Center for Reliable Information Systems and Cyber Security (RISCS), leads the NSF Frontier MACS project. He is also a participant in the Private Automated Contact Tracing (PACT) project. Before joining Boston University, Mayank designed and evaluated high performance privacy-enhancing data search technology, created information theoretic metrics to quantify privacy, and developed algorithms to capture linguistic provenance automatically at MIT Lincoln Labs.
